  • 1803 Lieut. M. B. ALT, Channel.
    On 23 June CHARLOTTE came out of Portsmouth harbour and made a signal for a convoy to the Downs. She returned on 1 July with the GENERAL STEWART, NORTHAMPTON, ANN and GLORY, East Indiamen, and several other outward bound vessels.
    On 27 August Lieut. ALT brought into Plymouth the MANLEY sloop loaded with spirits. CHARLOTTE sailed with a fleet for the Downs the following day and sent in the MARY of Rye with 600 tubs of brandy.
  • She came in to Portsmouth from the Downs on 16 December 1803 and the next reference to her is when she sailed for the West Indies with dispatches on the night of 15 January 1805.
