CONFLICT (12) Gun-brig Built in 1805, Topsham.
Lost in 1810.

  • 1807 Lieut. Joseph B. BARR, Channel.
    In July 1807 CONFLICT, GROWLER, COLPOYS with Charles DILKES in HAZARD as senior officer, were blockading the Pertuis Breton and on the 27th. their boats gave chase to 16 French vessels escaping to the eastwards along the coast. They were all captured, destroyed or driven ashore.
  • At the beginning of April 1809 CONFLICT, with five other gunbrigs, joined the fleet assembling for the attack on the French fleet in the Basque Roads.
    On the night of 11 April CONFLICT, with EMERALD, BEAGLE, DOTTEREL and GROWLER, was stationed at the eastern end of the Isle d'Aix to create a diversion while fireships and explosion vessels were launched against the enemy.
    During the morning of the 13th. she joined other gun-brigs in firing on three grounded French ships in the River Charente but the falling tide in the afternoon forced them to retreat under fire from shore batteries.
  • 1810 coast of Spain.
    On 9 November 1810 she foundered in the Bay of Biscay.
