  • 1739 Capt. R. MAYNARD, Deptford. (Originally the ALEX ROBERT purchased on 29 June)
    On 4 August he requested ballast and on the 26th., out in Galleon's Reach, down-stream from Woolwich, he asked for an eight-oared boat and a pilot to take him to the Nore, Mr Veale was asked to do this. CUMBERLAND took on Surgeon's stores from Sheerness and requested a pilot to take him to the Downs.
  • October, Spithead. On the 19th. Commissioner Richard Hughes ordered her in to Portsmouth Harbour for repairs. Cdr. MAYNARD reported that her anchors were too heavy so it was decided to replace them with with some of 12 hundredweight (1344 lb). She sailed from Spithead on 2 November with the NEWCASTLE, GREENWICH, the fireships ELEANOR and SUCCESS, and the bombs ALDERNEY and RUBY, for Port Royal.
