EARL ST VINCENT (14) Plymouth schooner privateer.
  • 1801 Capt. RICHARDS.
On 3 March he brought in the NEW HARMONY of Altona taking a cargo of silks, cotton, figs and dye-woods valued at 40,000 from Smyrna to Amsterdam.
The prize was liberated on 13 July.
On 12 May he sent in to Plymouth a Spanish brig in ballast, SANTA FRANCISCO XAVIAR, Juan Antonio, master, which had been sailing from Ferrol to Bilbao for a cargo.
When he came into Plymouth on 22 May he left 16 British privateers off the coast of Spain, all searching in vain for prizes.
The privateer sailed under the command of Capt. CROUTE on 27 June 1801 for a 3 month cruise which proved unsuccessful, and returned to Plymouth on 18 September.
