Lost in 1809.

  • 1807 first commissioned by Pitt Burnaby GREENE in May 1807, fitting out at Sheerness Plymouth.
    At the beginning of April 1809 she joined Lord GAMBIER's fleet in the Basque Roads where a French fleet of 15 ships commanded by Vice-Ad. Allemand was drawn up behind a boom under batteries mounting 30 big guns.
    On 11 April preparations were made to attack with fireships and the bomb AETNA was placed near the north-west of the Isle of Aix covered by INDEFATIGABLE and FOXHOUND.
  • 1809 James M'KENZIE.
    FOXHOUND foundered in the Atlantic on 31 August 1809 with the loss of all on board.
