  • On 29 January 1809, after a chase of 21 hours, the last six in a flat calm, the boats of JALOUSE under Lieut. RANDALL, and PHOENIX under Lieuts. MONDAY and ROBERTS, captured a French privateer CHARLES of 14 guns and 90 men under a heavy fire of grape and musketry. JALOUSE suffered no casualties.
