  • 1809 Mate Thomas MEKEET, coast of France.
    At the beginning of March 1809 she joined the fleet assembling for an attack on French ships in the Basque Roads and was fitted for launching rockets by Mr Congreve who came out in a transport.
  • On 11 April together with the similarly fitted WHITING and NIMROD she was stationed near the Boyart shoal while fire ships and explosion vessels were launched at the French fleet. At 11 o'clock on the 13th. KING GEORGE and NIMROD were moved in with BEAGLE, AETNA, FERVENT, GROWLER, CONFLICT and ENCOUNTER to fire on OCEAN, REGULUS and INDIENNE which had been driven aground at the entrance to the Charente.   • On 16 March 1810 the boats of KING GEORGE and IDAS cut out a French privateer schuyt of 4 guns near the Texel under a heavy fire of musketry from the shore.
