MINERVA, assisted by three East Indiamen, blockaded the French base of Pondicherry in India from 1 August and, when the governor refused to surrender, bombarded the town from the 20th. until he finally capitulated on the 23rd. - 1795 Capt. PEYTON, 09/1795.
- 1798 Capt. MACKELLER, 04/1798.
MINERVA took part in the attack on Ostend in May 1798. (see DRUID) The captain and his boat's crew were taken prisoners. He was succeeded by Capt. EDMONDS, 07/1798. Armed en flute To Portugal 31 January 1799. Broken up in March 1803.
