With Ad. George BYNG's fleet at the Battle of Dape Passaro against the Spanish on 17 August. MONTAGU and RUPERT captured the VOLANTE (44). - 1741 West Indies.
With Commodore LESTOCK's division of ships at the attack on Cartagena on 9 March. LESTOCK's division remained at anchor to distract the Spaniards. On 30 June she sailed with VERNON's fleet from Jamaica on an abortive exercise to attack Santiago de Cuba. - 1744 MONTAGU was driven ashore by the violent hurricane which struck Jamaica on 20 October but was got off again.
