    MUSQUITO took part in the Battle of Navarino on 20 October 1827, having arrived in the Mediterranean a very short time before. The Turkish ships were moored in the form of a crescent and the combined fleet sailed in towards them in two columns with the British and French forming the starboard line and the Russians the lee. ASIA led in followed by GENOA and ALBION and the frigates. DARTMOUTH (42) Capt. FELLOWES, with MUSQUITO, ROSE, BRISK and PHILOMEL were ordered to look after six fire vessels at the entrance of the harbour. The five vessels performed the part allocated to them and saved SYRENE from being burnt. MUSQUITO lost two men killed and four wounded.
