    On the 10 May 1810, after an action lasting an hour and a quarter, he captured the French national brig CANNONIERE off the River Vilaine some 20 miles S. E. of Quiberon Bay. She was armed with three long 12-pounders and two 24-pounder carronades and carried 61 men.
