On the 10 May 1810, after an action lasting an hour and a quarter, he captured the French national brig CANNONIERE off the River Vilaine some 20 miles S. E. of Quiberon Bay. She was armed with three long 12-pounders and two 24-pounder carronades and carried 61 men. - He was promoted to commander on 21.10.10, the fifth anniversary of Trafalgar.

Lieut. J. C. SHERWIN, Newfoundland. - 1812 Ditto, Mediterranean. She was damaged during a storm in the River Tagus on 19 December 1812 and sold.
