  • 1781 Alexander Inglis COCHRANE, North America. He exchanged into the AVENGER sloop in January 1782.
  • 1782 Isaac COFFIN, 01/1782, New York. He later sailed for Barbados where he found Sir Samuel HOOD about to depart in search of the French fleet.
    He served in BARFLEUR during the battle of 12 April at St Kitt's before returning to rejoin his sloop.
    He then took to Jamaica part of the crew of the SANTA MONICA (36) Capt. LINZEE, which had been wrecked off Tortola in January.
    He was there appointed to the command of SHREWSBURY.
  • While PACHAHUNTER was at Antigua the town of St. John's caught fire. Capt. COFFIN, with his crew and other sailors he had collected, succeeded in bring the flames under control.
