    In the summer of 1812 he successfully defended a convoy from Santiago de Cuba to Heneaga and destroyed two French privateers.
    A large pirate vessel was captured in Port Escondido, Cuba, together with three of her prizes.

  • RHODIAN foundered near Port Royal while on passage to Jamaica in January 1813 with 500,000 dollars on board.
    Using rafts which were frequently torn from the brig's side by the raging seas, all her people were saved together with her stores and all the specie except for about 40 dollars.
