  • Capt. Alex FRASER, 02/1796.
    On the morning of 15 January 1799 SHANNON captured a ship privateer GRAND INDIEN out of Granville after a chase of 7 hours in a heavy sea. She was armed with eight 18-pounder brass carronades and two long 12-pounders.
    Because of the weather Capt. FRASER accompanied his prize into the Cove of Cork.
