  • Launched in July 1804 she entered Portsmouth harbour on 5 August to be coppered.
  • 1805 Lieut. Arthur STOW, off Havre.
  • 1808 Ditto, convoy to South America.
  • 1809 River Plate and adjacent coast of Brazil.
    In the spring of 1810 STEADY brought home Mr Hill, the Secretary of Legation, with a commercial treaty and a Portuguese Consul for St. Petersburg.
    Lieut. STOW took two months leave in England and Lieut. Joseph WOOLLNOUGH took charge for the period.
    At the beginning of September STEADY and the frigate UNDAUNTED sailed with a Mediterranean convoy arriving on 26 September.
    At the end of February 1811 STEADY took part in the expedition to land troops at Algiciras behind the French troops investing Cadiz.
