    TALBOT, with the combined British, French and Russian squadrons, passed the batteries and entered the Bay of Navarino during the afternoon of 20 October 1827. The Turkish ships were moored in the form of crescent and the French frigate ARMIDE placed herself alongside the outermost enemy frigate with CAMBRIAN, GLASGOW and TALBOT next to her. When the action started the three British ships effectually destroyed their opponents and also silenced the batteries. TALBOT, being closely engaged with a double banked frigate, suffered considerably and lost 6 men killed and 17 wounded. After the battle she co-operated with the French forces employed in the Gulf of Lepanto.
