    During a gale and a blizzard on the night of 7 March TERRIBLE broke from her moorings in the Hamoaze and she and the sheer hulk she was lashed to were driven ashore on the mud. Fortunately they were got off with little damage when the tide turned.
    On 15 October marine private James KEATING was tried on board GLADIATOR at Portsmouth for disobedience of orders and striking his sergeant. He was sentenced to receive 200 lashes.
