  • 1805 Lieut. John W. SKINNER, Downs.
    On 8 January 1805 TICKLER arrived in the Downs with a French officer she had taken out of a fishing boat Which came out of Boulogne Harbour under flag of truce.
    He had a dispatch from Talleyrand to Lord Harrowby which had been sent express from Paris.
  • 1808 Ditto, Baltic.
    On 4 June 1808 TICKLER was attacked by 4 Danish gunboats in the Great Belt.
    Becalmed, she held out for four hours before being forced to surrender with her captain dead and 36 others killed and wounded out of a crew of 50.
    Only one officer was wounded on the Danish side.
