  • 1703 Sir Thomas HARDY. With the Blue Squadron of 11 ships of the line, a frigate, fireship and mortar bomb with Sir Cloudesley Shovel's fleet which, on 24 July, arrived off the rock of Lisbon with three objectives:- to assist Portugal, annoy the enemy and protect English trade.
  • 1723 Capt. Francis HUME, when BEDFORD was ordered to be equipped at Portsmouth. He did not retain the command for long and was superseded by Capt. Edmund HOOKE. in 1726 she served with the fleet ordered to the Baltic under Sir Charles WAGER. On his return he was ordered to Portsmouth, where BEDFORD was put out of commission and dismantled.
