  • 1740 Cdr. John TOCKETTS, Nore.
    On 1 January 1741 he received 15 pressed men from the Regulating Captain, but then discovered that he could not get any beds for them from either Chatham or Sheerness. He managed to obtain 16 from the master of a passage boat and requested a pilot for the Downs. On his arrival there he pressed 11 men out a merchantman and replaced them with 11 of his own. His orders were to cruise between Milford and Bristol.
  • In August BLAST was in collision with the TWO BROTHERS, a collier from Newcastle, Richard Pemberton, master, and her sprit-sail yard was carried away.
