  • 1745 Capt. Charles SAUNDERS, appointed out of the SANDWICH in April. In January 1747, while on a cruise with, and under the orders of, Capt. CHEAP of the LARK, they fell in with and captured a Spanish Galleon, the Fort de Nantz, off Madeira, she was carrying a valuable cargo, estimated at 300,000 L from the Havanna to Cadiz. The prize was taken into Plymouth.
