SALISBURY (54) 4th rate Built in 1726, Portsmouth DY.
Broken up in 1749.

  • 1731 Capt. LEE, 4th. Feb. commissioned for Newfoundland.
  • 1732 Capt Edward FALKINGHAM, Commodore to protect fishery in Newfoundland.
  • 1738 Capt. Henry OSBORNE, SALISBURY was docked in Sheerness on 24th. April, was ready to receive men on the 9th. May and undocked on 21st. May. She sailed for Portsmouth where she was stored for a foreign voyage
  • She spent the last week of August wind-bound in the Cove of Cork with three transports she was to convoy to Port Mahon; one had arrived from Dublin, other soldiers boarded in Cork and Kinsale, they eventually got away on the 5th. September.
  • SALISBURY arrived back at Portsmouth on 23rd. February 1739. In March she was ordered to Guinea on the west coast of Africa.
  • Hulked from February 1744.
