  • 1751 Capt. Edward WHEELER. He joined Capt. BYRON in ST. ALBANS to accompany commodore BUCKLE in ASSISTANCE to the coast of Africa. At Anamboe they found three French ships of war attempting to seduce the natives by promises of presents, into allowing them to erect a fort there, in defiance of a peace treaty concluded a short time before. They backed down under commodore HARDY's threat to use force. Capt. WHEELER removed to UNICORN.
  • 1755 In September she arrived in New York with a passenger, Sir Charles Hardy, governor of New York.
  • 1757 Capt. William TUCKER, 11 January, Early in the following year he was promoted to LEVANT (28).
  • 1758 Capt. John DALRYMPLE, who was promoted out of the sloop, ALBANY on 16th. October.
  • 1759 Capt. Sir William HEWIT, he soon removed to the DUC D'AQUITAINE and was drowned when she foundered in the storm off Pondicherry on 1 Jan. 1761.
