Quote: | "A TRAFALGAR HERO - On the 26th ult., in Ipswich Union, died John Claxton, aged 75 years. He was onboard the Victory, Lord Nelson's ship, on the memorable 21st of October, 1805, and he often said he saw his commander fall. Efforts were made to get him into Greenwich Hospital, but he having unfortunately entered himself in a wrong name, and forgotten the name he then assumed, all efforts were fruitless.' |
