|
|
Tony B. has added a new search engine for the Age of Sail on his website at www.minotaur.org/search.htm.
Click on the refinements to further narrow the search.
Quote: | "Given the Admiralty's habit of naming ships after Greek mythological creatures, Roman gods, English place names and just common English words, I'm sure many here have experienced some frustration with Internet searches. Searches for people's names aren't much better, with Nelson Mandela and Ricky Nelson regularly topping the results. And then there are the morons who adopt your man's name as a forum nom-de-plume..." |

Just wondering, P, whether you could consider establishing a direct link from this site to that search engine...and back...maybe via some reciprocal link to / from Tony B's site.
Be interesting, maybe, to see what additional candidate sites the forum members here might be able to offer / suggest to Tony B to consider adding into his search algorithm mix?
I wondering, for example, whether the Gutenberg project might usefully be included, just as a random first thought.
best,

I have added a link on the homepage.
Project Gutenberg is already in the sites searched.

hmmnn...
Stupid of me, I didn't check the Home page as I tend to bookmark straight into the Forum from my Mac Dock bar. And Hadn't registered Tony had already utilised Gut'G.
Still maybe we can come up with other helpful candidates for him. |
