AMETHYST (36) Built in 1793, the French LA PERLE taken at Toulon.
Wrecked in 1795.
  • Capt. F. T. AFFLECK.
    After striking on rocks in the Channel Islands AMETHYST had to be beached at Alderney to save the crew. She was wrecked there on 29 December 1795.
    At a court martial on 8 March following Capt. AFFLECK was found to be responsible for the loss.
