    On 31 August 1800 ASSISTANCE arrived at Plymouth after a passage of six weeks from Halifax with his Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Kent. After the men-of-war and the Citadel fired a royal salute of 21 guns, the Duke landed from her 12-oared barge at the Admiral's Hard in Stonehouse Pool and took a carriage to Weymouth. ASSISTANCE sailed for Portsmouth the following day.

    ASSISTANCE was wrecked on the banks near Dunkirk on 29 March 1802 through the ignorance of the pilot. All the crew were rescued by a Flemish pilot boat.
