  • 1807 Capt. Robert SCOTT.
    Only two officers and 45 men were saved when Boreas went down immediately after striking a sunken rock on the Jersey coast on 5 December 1807. Among those lost were Capt SCOTT and his wife; the first lieutenant Mr HAWKES; the purser, Mr DAVY; the carpenter, Mr AUSLECK; the surgeon, Mr Hodgson WRIGHT, and three midshipmen, messrs. BARNES, DUNSTELL and LUTTERELL.
