EMULOUS (14) Brig The American brig NAUTILUS taken by SHANNON on 6 July 1812.
Sold in 1817.

  • The NAUTILUS, of 16 guns and 106 men, was commanded by Capt. Crane and was 24 hours out on a cruise from New York but had captured nothing.
  • On 21 September 1812 she captured the brig AMBITION from Baltimore bound for Boston.
  • 1813 W. M. GODFREY, 02/2/1813, Halifax.
    On 21 September 1813 her boats under Lieut. WRIGHT drove on shore and burnt, in Great Machias Bay, a chebacco boat privateer of two guns and 11 men.
    He also captured two small American privateers in Passamaquaddy Bay, between Maine and New Brunswick at the beginning of October 1813.
    One was a schooner called the ORION with one gun and 16 men, the other was a row boat with 17 men and small arms.
    The schooner FOUR BROTHERS was taken on 2 August 1814.
  • 1815 J. GORE, Jamaica.
  • 1816 T. CARTER, who was appointed to CARNATION in April 1816.
    Caleb JACKSON was appointed in his stead.
