Downs. - 1809 George Edward WATTS. In July 1809 EPHIRA joined a small squadron under Capt. GOATE of MUSQUITO which drove the French out of Cuxhaven.
A few days later a detachment of seamen and marines from the squadron attacked a French body of about 250 infantry and cavalry at Gessendorf and drove them back. Capt. WATTS, who was wounded, was the only British casualty. (see MUSQUITO) - 1811 Lieut. Thomas EVERARD.
In February 1811 EPHIRA was part of Rear-Ad. KEATS' squadron which landed 3,000 troops at Algiciras to make an attack, in conjunction with the Spaniards, on the rear of the French forces besieging Cadiz. [see SABINE] - On 26 December 1811 EPHIRA was wrecked near Cadiz.
