FRIENDSHIP (2) (2) River barge, gunboat Purchased in 1795.
Lost in 1801.

  • 1800 J. PALMER, Plymouth.
  • 1801 Lieut. ASTLEY.
On 2 November 1801 she was driven out of the Guernsey Roads during a hurricane and it was thought that she had foundered.
In fact she had gone ashore near St Malo and at low water her crew waded ashore on to the sand.
The French commandant marched them about two miles inland and lodged them in a barn for 10 days before sending them back to the Prince de Bouillon in the Channel Islands under flag of truce.
