INCENDIARY (14) Fireship Built in 1782, Dover.

  • 1799 G. BARKER.
  • 1800 R. D. DUNN, Lisbon. A French fleet slipped out of Brest during a gale on the 23 January 1801 and on the 29th. they were sighted by INCENDIARY which had been sent out to watch for them. The French chased INCENDIARY all day and captured her at nine o'clock at night. Capt. DUNN was acquitted by a court martial held at Portsmouth on the 6 May. Two French brigs laden with wine and brandy which she had taken arrived in Plymouth on 26 February.
