    In the summer of 1799 INSPECTOR was ordered to take the merchant ships bound for Archangel under convoy as soon as they assembled at the Nore and to escort them as far as 54 deg. latitude, calling at the Humber etc. for the trade assembled there.
  • 1800 G. SAYER, Harwich.
    In August 1800 she and the cutter DILIGENT detained the merchantman INDIAN CHIEF. Part of the cargo was condemned and petty officers received a prize payment of LO.11s.9d and seamen LO.11s.6d.
  • When Ad. DICKSON received news of an enemy privateer having captured a merchant ship off Scarborough on the 15 December 1800 he ordered out INSPECTOR and the cutters HAZARD and DILIGENCE to back up the luggers and cutters protecting the homecoming Baltic convoys.
