Wrecked in 1801.

  • 1800 Capt. Joseph Sydney YORKE. Fitting out at Portsmouth.
    During November 1800 to March 1801 she cruised out of Portsmouth.
    On 18 January 1801 JASON captured the French privateer lugger VENUS, armed with fourteen brass carriage guns and manned by 36 men. She had sailed from Cherbourg the previous evening.
  • Capt. Woodley LOSACK.
    At one o'clock on the morning of 1 May he intercepted the French privateer brig DORAD which had sailed from Cherbourg the previous evening for a cruise off the coast of Spain. She had a crew of 53 commanded by a Citoyen Le Fevre and was armed with fourteen brass 6-pounders.
  • Capt. Hon. John MURRAY.
    On 21 July 1801 JASON was wrecked near St. Malo. All the crew were saved but taken prisoner, and Capt. MURRAY was acquitted of blame at a court martial held in Portsmouth on 20 August.
