    On 15 October 1800 a court martial was held on board GLADIATOR at Portsmouth to try Joseph WRIGHT (alias MARR) a seaman belonging to OTTER for desertion and running away with a ship's boat. He was found part guilty and sentenced to 200 lashes and to forfeit all his pay.
