    After leaving Sir Alexander COCHRANE at Benedict on the evening of 20 August, Rear Ad. COCKBURN proceeded up the Patuxent with the boats and tenders carrying the marines of the ships.
    He divided them into three divisions: the first under Capts.
    SULIVAN and BADCOCK, the second under Capts.
    MONEY and SOMERVILLE, and the third under Capt. RAMSAY.
