    Lieut. J. G. NOPS, North sea.
    On 9 June 1808 TURBULENT was one of the escorts for a convoy of seventy merchantmen.
    (The others were THUNDER, CHARGER and PIERCER).
    In the late afternoon the convoy was becalmed off Saltholm and 21 Danish gunboats and 7 mortar boats came out from Copenhagen to attack it.
    TURBULENT and a number of merchantmen were cut off, captured and taken back to Denmark
