BURLINGTON (48) 4th rate Built in 1695, Blackwall.
Broken up in 1733.

  • During the Great Storm of 26-27 November 1703 BURLINGTON lost all her masts at Spithead.
  • 1705 Capt Francis HOSIER.
    Employed convoying the East Indies fleet from St. Helena to Europe. The senior officer of the escort was Capt. TOLLET in KINGFISHER. The following year only BURLINGTON and DARTMOUTH, Capt. COCK, were employed, with Capt. HOSIER the senior. At the end of 1706 he removed into SALISBURY.
  • 1708 Capt. George LUMLEY, cruising in the Soundings. He died in command on 20th. Sept. 1710.
  • 1715 Capt. Jordan SANDYS, one of the fleet sent annually to the Baltic under different commanders in chief.
